AUTISM AWARENESS FESTIVAL
04/14/2018 11:00 am 3:00 pm
Location: 9166 Anaheim Place, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730
California MENTOR, a statewide provider of services to individuals with Autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities, will host a FREE Autism Awareness Festival on April 14, 2018 to mark World Autism Awareness Month.
“We invite the Inland Empire community to join us for a day of fun activities to help raise Autism awareness,” said Tammi Simpson, Regional Director with California MENTOR. “There will be something for everyone from fun activities to a great lunch.”
This year’s theme is “Choose Your Own Adventure.” The event features Robert Castillo’s BMX demo, mini trackless train rides from The Mini Express, A-Skate Foundation skateboarding clinic demo, interactive reptile exhibit, rock wall climbing, face painting, sensory play, interactive games, entertainment, a quiet zone, resource tables and so much more. Lunch and giveaways will be available throughout the event while supplies last. A-Skate Foundation will receive a donation on behalf of California MENTOR from Carl’s jr. for catering proceeds.
“The objective of the festival is to unite the Inland Empire to offer education and resources, rally support for individuals with Autism and their families in an integrated setting, and celebrate each individual’s unique contributions to their community,” said Michelle Mainez, Regional Director with California MENTOR. “Consistent with this year’s theme “Choose Your Own Adventure,” children will receive an explorer’s map to chart their adventure and have the opportunity to engage in art activities and sensory play in a fun-filled environment.”
At California MENTOR, we believe in giving back to the communities in which we live and work. Strengthening the fabric of our neighborhoods through volunteerism and philanthropy contributes to our overall goal of building relationships and enhancing lives. The Autism Awareness Festival is one of many ways the agency gives back to the communities in which we live and work.
