California MENTOR participated in the 12th Annual Orange County “Walk Now for Autism Speaks” held at Angel’s Stadium in California that helped raise more than $169,000. California MENTOR’s Family Home Agency employees along with individuals they serve were able share stories and support with their local community. The event’s festivities included resources for families, giveaways, and even characters from the new Star Wars film. ABC7 Anchor Phillip Palmer was the Master of Ceremonies, and the cast of ABC7 News was present to show their support.
“It was amazing to also see all the groups of friends and family rallying together supporting their loved ones with matching team shirts! It was a great way for parents to feel the care and services provided for their children and family members with Autism.” –Ashley Rello (Program Services Coordinator)
“It was a happy and fun day!! I learned about new programs that I could than pass on to those we serve and their families, as well as to my own family.” –Cathy Brubaker (California MENTOR Employee)
