Claire Williamson

Executive Director, Region 1

Claire-Williamson-bioClaire joined California MENTOR in 1997 and has served as the executive director for the southern part of the state since 2011.  As executive director, Claire leads all levels of the organization to develop innovative services and implement growth strategies.  She is responsible for ensuring successful outcomes for all programs offered by California MENTOR and its partners, as well as managing the organization’s operational and financial goals.  In addition, Claire works collaboratively with funding and regulatory agencies to develop new strategies aimed at improving services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as their families.

Claire became a member of the California MENTOR’s leadership team in 1997, serving as the director of day services throughout the state.  Later, Claire was promoted to director of operations and then state director before stepping into her current role as executive director.

Prior to joining California MENTOR, Claire held several positions with Cole Vocational Services, First Step Independent Living and Unlimited Quest, like-minded providers who became partners of California MENTOR and The MENTOR Network.  When these organizations were acquired by The MENTOR Network in 1997, Claire brought more than 10 years of day program and employment services experience to the California MENTOR team and quickly became a leader in the organization.  Claire attended Chaffey College and Cal State San Bernardino, where she studied business administration and human services, respectively.

“Holding so many different positions through the years has given me great perspective and a wealth of knowledge to be able to effectively perform my job and support the people we serve and employ.  I’m honored to lead such a passionate and energetic team.  They are truly amazing.”
