Cole Vocational Services, a partner of California MENTOR, celebrated the expansion of its Ontario program with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 17. In addition to the individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who participate in the programs offered by Cole Vocational Services, guests at the ceremony included Ontario Mayor pro Tem Sheila Mautz, Executive Director of Inland Regional Center Carol Fitzgibbons, and other members of the community.
The expansion and renovation of Cole Vocational Services 10,000 square foot location included activity room upgrades, and the addition of a computer lab, TV broadcast room, art center, and music room. The kitchen was also remodeled and now resembles a café bistro. Each new area provides the opportunity for experiential learning and skill development.
“Our grand re-opening celebration was an opportunity to say thank you to the city of Ontario for their assistance with this project and their continued support for our services,” said Tammi Simpson, regional director with California MENTOR. “It was also an opportunity to thank our day program participants and their families for continuing to make Cole Vocational Services a part of their lives, and Inland Regional Center for being a great partner in providing the supports to those we serve.”
