Michelle Mainez

Regional Director

Michelle-Mainez-newestMichelle has been with California MENTOR since 2001 and is the regional director in Southern California.  She manages program operations for Family Home Agency programs,“Bridges” Independent Living Services, day programs, specialized residential homes, early intervention, and family behavioral services.

With more than 15 years of experience in human services, Michelle’s passion for her work is fueled by the daily achievements of individuals in California MENTOR’s programs.  In addition to her role as regional director, Michelle is a participant in the California MENTOR autism collaborative, which seeks to enhance our services for adults and children with autism spectrum disorders throughout the state.

Michelle’s career with California MENTOR began as a program coordinator in the Family Home Agency program.  Prior to that, she worked as a service coordinator for the Inland Regional Center.  Michelle also spent time as program manager for The Arc and as an independent contractor implementing an employment-training program for youth at risk.  Michelle continuously challenges herself and those around her to strive for great heights and continue improving the lives of others.

She holds a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from California State University, San Bernardino and is a certified rehabilitation counselor.  She is a member at large for San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center’s Vendor Advisory Committee, and a former steering committee member and first seated president of the National Rehabilitation Counseling Association, Southern California State Chapter.
