Robert Efford
Vice President of Operations
As vice president of operations for The MENTOR Network’s Redwood operating group, Robert oversees all human services operations and program growth initiatives for California MENTOR and its partners. He was promoted into this role in 2012 after leading California MENTOR as its senior executive director for two and a half years.
Robert joined The MENTOR Network in 2008 as state director for MENTOR Oregon, where he led the expansion of residential, foster and day programs into rural, underserved regions of the state. Prior to joining The MENTOR Network, Robert developed supported employment and transition services for Villa Esperanza Services, a non-profit in Southern California. He led the organization’s innovative program development in partnership with California’s Regional Centers serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Well matched to the entrepreneurial spirit of The MENTOR Network, Robert and his California leadership team continue to develop individualized, person-centered services for California MENTOR and its partners. With service lines ranging from Family Home Agency programs to Day and College programs, California MENTOR has become one of the state’s most trusted providers of community-based services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, serving adults, children and seniors across the state.
A former development executive with The Walt Disney Company, Robert holds an honors degree from Pepperdine University, and completed graduate studies in rehabilitation leadership through the University of Wisconsin.
